Since The Bridge Centre first opened its doors, City Music Service (CMS) has been proud to call it home — a partnership built on creativity, community, and opportunity.
For CMS, the decision to base its activities at The Bridge Centre was simple: the facilities are outstanding, the location ideal, and the free parking a welcome bonus. CMS Lead, Ruth Steele, said: “What truly sets the centre apart is its dedicated staff, who go above and beyond to make sure every rehearsal, meeting, and concert runs smoothly. We’ve been here for a long time now and it’s a great place for us to be located.”
The Bridge Centre offers a full range of spaces — from smaller meeting rooms to large, air-conditioned conference halls — perfect for everything from training sessions to music rehearsals and performances. There’s even a spacious lounge area where parents can relax while children rehearse, and the facilities are always spotless and welcoming.
Ruth added: “CMS works in partnership with schools across Stoke-on-Trent, providing high-quality music education to more than 8,000 young people aged 2–18 every week. Through music, the service helps raise aspirations, build confidence, and create transformational experiences that enrich lives.
“As a key funded partner of The Music Partnership, CMS is part of a network of leading music education providers committed to ensuring every child has the chance to sing, learn an instrument, and perform as part of an ensemble or choir.”
At The Bridge Centre, CMS runs free evening music groups every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday — open to pupils of all ages and abilities. CMS hopes to see even more children join in and discover the joy of making music together.
