Here at the Bridge Centre, we’ve got the perfect space and facilities to host your community events.
We already hold a number of charitable events and host different groups including exercise classes, groups like Slimming World and even Sunday church services which makes us proud to play a part in helping our local community.
But there are reasons why community events are good for the area – here are our five top ones:
Community Spirit
Remember when we all stood on our doorsteps during lock down and clapped for our nurses and doctors and the community spirit it promoted? Community events can do the same – they can act as a catalyst to involve and engage people and essentially bring them together.

Giving Something Back
Community events, whether they are designed to bring the community together, raise funds for a local charity or are being held to engage with different groups – they can be the perfect way to give something back – not only to the people involved but the wider community too.
If your event is big enough it can be good for the local economy – people may spend in sandwich shops, or stay in local hotels etc.
Putting Your Town on the Map
Bringing people or residents together can be the perfect way to showcase your town or city. If your event goes well – it’s a great opportunity to encourage people back to the area -maybe to hold their own event which as we’ve said is great for the local economy.
PR
No matter how big or small, a community event can help raise the profile of your organisation and could even get you media attention. Think about putting a press release together to try and grab journalists’ attention to get you that all important media coverage – it’s always great for your organisations’ socials.
Creating Memories
Community events are fun – they can be the perfect way to bring different people and generations together to do different things and create new experiences for those involved -and don’t forget all those perfect photograph opportunities too.
Don’t forget we’ve got some fantastic facilities at the Bridge Centre which could be perfect for your next event, group meeting or networking group – to find out more call us on 01782 683780 or email info@thebridgecentre.org.uk
